The English word “epiphany” derives from the Greek word epiphaneia which translates as “manifestation.”  Traditionally, this word refers to three important events in the life of Christ:

• The visit of the Magi to the stable in Bethlehem at the birth of Christ, bringing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
• The baptism of Jesus, where the Holy Spirit descended in the form of a dove, and the voice of God was heard to say, “This is my beloved Son.”
• The miracle at the Wedding in Cana, where Christ turned the water into wine, was the first of the great miracles he performed.
