The English word “epiphany” derives from the Greek word epiphaneia which translates as “manifestation.” Traditionally, this word refers to three important events in the life of Christ:
The visit of the Magi to the stable in Bethlehem at the birth of Christ, bringing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
The baptism of Jesus, where the Holy Spirit descended in the form of a dove, and the voice of God was heard to say, “This is my beloved Son.”
The miracle at the Wedding in Cana, where Christ turned the water into wine, was the first of the great miracles he performed.
